MI vs SRH 2025, IPL Match Highlights: Mumbai Indians (MI) kept the winning momentum intact and defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by four wickets in the IPL 2025 encounter at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday evening. The proceedings began with a neat and tidy effort by the Mumbai bowlers, who collectively bowled 39 dots, and restricted Sunrisers at 162/5, which they chased down with 11 balls to spare. Mumbai began the chase on a decent note and accumulated 55 runs in the powerplay but lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma (26 off 16) in the fourth over, who was dismissed by Pat Cummins. Harshal Patel then got rid of Ryan Rickelton for 31(23) but Mumbai kept the momentum intact as Suryakumar Yadav and Will Jacks plundered 52 runs off 29 balls. Cummins broke the partnership by getting rid of Suryakumar for 26(15) and later removed Jacks for 36(26) to give SRH some hope. Hardik Pandya, however, didn't allow SRH to capitalise and hammered 21 runs off 9 balls before getting out to Eshan Malinga in the 18th over. MI could have easily wrapped the chase in the same over, with just two runs away from the target. However, the pacer conceded just one run and picked two wickets, Naman Dhir (0) and Pandya. Earlier, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma started the innings on a rather quiet note after Mumbai won the toss and opted to bowl. The pair, which is usually explosive, managed just 46 at the end of powerplay, following which Hardik Pandya broke the partnership at 59 in the eighth over. The blow came right after Pandya hurt his ankle and received medical attention. Will Jacks then got Ishan Kishan stumped for 2(3) in the next over. SRH then avoided a wicket at the halfway stage as Head was caught off Pandya's bowling for run-a-ball 24 but replays confirmed that the bowler had overstepped, handing the batter a lifeline. Head, however, failed to capitalise and was dismissed for 28(29) by Jacks, which was the spinner's second wicket. Nitish Reddy (19 off 21) and Heinrich Klaasen (37 off 28) then dug deep but struggled to keep the scoreboard ticking, barring the 18th over by Deepak Chahar, which resulted in 21 runs. However, Bumrah castled the wicketkeeper-batter in the first ball of the penultimate over. Young Aniket Verma then chipped in with a handy 18* off 8 balls, while Cummins, who returned unbeaten on 8(4), finished the innings with a maximum.
