IPL 2025: Will the first match of KKR vs RCB be cancelled? Rain looms large

IPL 2025 defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are set to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the first match on Saturday, March 22. Celebrities like Disha Patani and Shreya Ghoshal will perform at the opening ceremony.

 However, bad weather in Kolkata just before the match has become a cause of concern. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for March 22,

 Due to which there is a possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorm. According to AccuWeather, the probability of rain on Saturday is 74% and the probability of cloudy weather is 97%. By evening, the probability of rain may increase to 90%, which has increased the possibility of the match being cancelled.

 Earlier, the match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and KKR scheduled for April 6 was shifted from Kolkata to Guwahati due to security reasons.

 The police had expressed their inability to provide security due to Ram Navami processions. Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) president Snehasish Ganguly had informed the BCCI about rescheduling the match.

Now it remains to be seen whether the weather will allow the match to be held on March 22 or not!
