“Alice in Borderland” A Thrilling Dive into a Deadly Game
Alice in Borderland is a gripping Japanese series that blends psychological survival, intense action, and deep philosophical themes. Based on Haro Aso’s manga, the story follows Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and his friends as they find themselves in an abandoned Tokyo where they must play deadly games to survive.
Alice in Borderland is a Japanese TV Show on Netflix about an alternate universe where the entire population of the world has disappeared and the few remaining humans are required to win death-defying games in order to stay alive. It’s an action-packed thriller where life has turned into a game show and death/murder has become a sport.
A Unique Survival Thriller Unlike typical survival series, Alice in Borderland introduces a game system where players must earn visas to avoid execution. The games are categorized by suits of playing cards:
Hearts (Psychological warfare)
Diamonds (Intelligence based)
Clubs (Teamwork focused)
Spades (Physical challenges)
This structure keeps the tension high, as each game tests different aspects of human nature.
Based on the manga by Haro Iso, Alice in Borderland sees Japanese residents suddenly transported into a seemingly alternate reality where they are forced to play a series of challenges ranging in difficulty and strategy. Based around the suits in a deck of cards, the players must complete these games in hopes of leaving the world.
I usually try to avoid live action shows that are too bloody or gory, but if the story is interesting enough, I can be convinced to keep watching. From the first episode, Alice in Borderland sucked me in to the story. There’s a lot of intrigue to the whole set-up, from the entire population of Tokyo disappearing to the chaos of trying to beat the first challenge. A lot of the characters in this show have really exaggerated personalities and our two main characters are fairly normal by comparison. Arisu is a young adult whose knack for gaming and thinking outside of the box saves his life and makes him stand out from the crowd. The second main character, Usagi, is agile both physically and mentally, and ends up becoming a really important part of the plot. I really liked the friendship and camaraderie that forms between Arisu and Usagi, and it definitely makes you want to root for them until the end. some of my favourite characters from this webseries are Kuinia (karate girl) Chisiya (blonde hair) and Rizuna (forensic investigator woman)
I am big fan of this show and im really feeling very happy and excited to see season 3
